I’ll be the first to admit, but I’ve been a bit behind on this whole Twitter phenomenon. Perhaps the “What are you doing?” catchline failed to captivate, but I’m now warming up it. You might even notice my latest Tweet at the top of this very page. Many bloggers have been discussing Twitter’s undeniable presence at SXSWi over the past week or so. Well, for the second time in the past five months, I have brought my site through a complete overhaul. Designing personal sites always presents a challenge. Logging into your site should feel like putting on your favorite t-shirt. It should make you feel like you, a sentiment that the previous site failed to evoke. Don’t get me wrong, I liked the design and all, but pulling it up made feel like I just walked into a room sporting an Big Johnson shirt in place of my usual Banana Republic (I challenge you to find a better sale rack). My motivation to update it dwindled.

The use of standards in email design have long been neglected. Well, neglected isn’t the best word. I mean unsupported. If you haven’t worked with HTML emails, it might be a surprise to you that support amongst the clients is something akin to the wild west. In this day in age, I find that confounding. By now, must of us have thrown our old ways of nesting tables out the window and fully embraced CSS. Email Standards Project to the rescue.
